This old customer is creeping me out

July 22nd, 2007 at 10:03 am

Yesterday I was working like usual on 3pm to 11pm.

The old customer whom I've been talking to for a long time now is starting to freak me out. I was taking his order like usual and I knew what he wants in his coffee since he always say the usual. I told him the total price and he said to me in French : Baah! I don't care about price! It means nothing to me! I want to talk about love. I was a little cluless but I laugh a little because I thought it was a joke. He asked me about my bf and I talked about him and everything. He then asked me if my bf makes love with me in Spanish. I was shocked but to be polite, I keep smiling and said : I don't know hehe... Then I quickly said bye. He sat at another place, somewhere where he can see me and he was looking at me.

I went to the back and I was so traumatized. My two coworkers said that he does that to everyone and one coworker said that before, they were talking like she does with a few customers, she was telling him that she is going camping with his bf this weekend and he said : So you are going to fuck with your bf all weekend?! She reacted the same way as I did without the laugh and after this accident, she ignores him whenever he comes over. All she does is take his order and go.

God... After this accident, I am not talking to him like I used to anymore. This old pervert is freaking me out. EEEWww. He knows that I'm 18 and he talked to me about this!! Aaarg, I feel like punching him so badly.

If he deos it again file a report for stalking/harassment. Also tell yourboss asap, and every one you work ith so when he comes in every will have thier eyes on him. Also be polite but up front and let him know you do not appreciate him speaking to you in that manner

my ex dad use to say little crap and I told his wife and he stop, he even use to come by when my ex was not home

I agree with Amber on this.

Ugh - Definitely tell your supervisor, and don't discuss any details of your personal life with that creep. Keep it strictly business, like your coworker does; take his order and go.

Tell your supervisor and maybe they'll ask him not to return. I'm sure a few dollars a week won't break their business.

You need to change your reaction to this totally inappropriate conversation. Laughing or smiling politely will only encourage him. He is counting on your naivete. Tell him point blank that that's really crude and totally inappropriate, WITHOUT smiling.

Wow. Guess i DO have a maternal instinct after all.
Yes, keep it all strictly business from here on.

Yeah I should stop being so friendly. I have regreted big time at the way I respond. Just the way he was smiling is creeping me out. He lives a few blocks from me and I pass by his street after work at night!! Arrrg... I have regretted talking to him. Next time, I'm going to tell him off. I don't care if he's mad at the way I treat him. Next time if he decides to talk to me, I will not respond to him and I will not smile anymore.
