Friends don't believe me

October 14th, 2007 at 10:47 am

This morning, I went to eat breakfast with friends whom I haven't seen for a long time. It was nice to see them again. I told them that I feel like going to Cuba or something and they were like : Yeah... Remember about the Quebec trip? We didn't even go!

Then I mentioned that I'm going to Spain and Morocco next year. They were like : Yeah yeah... We're going to see next year! LOL Man I know that I didn't keep my words about going to Quebec city two years ago so I don't blame them for not believing me that I'm going to travel next year. I showed them my bank receipt where I put my challenge money in to prove them that I'm saving for it. Although, the real way to prove to them that I'm serious about traveling is by going there which I will.

Today, I decided to put some money in. I have 2136$ to go... I hope that I won't change my mind. I have to stop changing my mind I'll regret it later.

I have friends who think I'm not taping my shows in Canada too- I think people are jealous sometimes-I wish they could learn to save like us.

    Got your passport ready?!

Well isn't that weird about the doubters? I had a high school friend who traveled to what seemed exotic places all by herself during high school summers. She was super bright and learned languages so easily. She made friends via short wave radio (obviously this was years ago!) and then went to visit some of them in summer. Of course it was winter when she got to the southern hemisphere. I always admired her independence and confidence that was always still humble. But mostly our school mates just thought of her as the nerdiest person they'd ever encountered. Thirty years later, we keep in touch and she has just gotten more & more admirable & interesting.

    Be true to yourself, Tina.

yeah, i sometimes get that too. i had friends that didnt believe me when i said i was going to get a loan for a new car (which i did). i also have friends that dont believe me when i say my boyfriend and i are going to buy a house next year! the only way you can show them is by DOING it, and not get frightened when you are only a couple of steps away, that's the hardest part, actually going through with it when the time comes.

How long do you want to spend in Spain and Morocco?
If you get student airfare, stay in hostels and get tips from a backpacker crowd on good cheap local bars/eateries you may not need 6k.
